Abstract
C.I.S.H. is an intrafascial cylindrical enucleation of the cervical transformation zone and endocervix and supracervical amputation of the uterus. We have experienced and analized 52 cases of C.I.S.H. and 63- cases of T.A.H. from July 1994 to September 1995.
By using a calibrated uterine resection tool(C.U.R.T.), we can. protect from cervical.neoplasm by coring out the nearly complete squamo-columnar junction and endocervical canal, maintain and preserve the nerve and blood supply of the pelvic floor, and maintain normal sexual activity, and this procedure appear to offer significant advantages postoperatively.
Clinical trials have shown that patients undergoing C.I.S.H. have decreased estimated intraoperative blood loss, shorter postoperative hospital stay, shorter recovery period, decreased postoperative pain, improved cosmetic outcome, and earlier return to work when compared with TA.H.
The procedures require an advanced degree of technical skill and judgement of the gynecological laparoscopist and relatively sophisticated array of equipment and supplies when compared with TA.H.
